I hired Hearth of Muskoka to diagnose an issue with my gas stove. Their technician told me the stove had a major failure and recommended replacing the entire unit, which would have cost at least $2k This diagnosis turned out to be completely incorrect. The manufacturer’s technician later identified the real issue — a failed igniter — within minutes and repaired it easily and cheaply. It is the most common reason for this type of failure. When I requested a partial refund for the incorrect diagnosis, Hearth of Muskoka refused and said their technician “did what technicians do when faced with a product they haven’t worked on before,” which I found concerning since proper diagnosis requires correct tools and experience. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this business.
