I have a question for parents/guardians that have school aged children. Last week I was contacted by a man from special education, My son will not be mainstreamed. They found a spot for him in Copper Cliff. A meeting has been set up for the beginning of January and the man said that they expect my boy to start a week later. For anyone who has their children in an ASD class, what was that first meeting like? Was that first meeting when an IEP was put in place for your child? I'm thinking so if they want to put him in school immediately after, If so, what am I to expect and what should I be thinking about, writing out right now? Thank you for any advice/replies.
