We are a full-service general contractor based in Sault Ste Marie, the home town of owner Hal Clayton and Project Manager/Head Foreman Shawn O'Neal. Both have worked and continue to work on projects such as homes, apartments, and businesses across southern Ontario, but since COVID have concentrated mainly on the Sault and surrounding area. They've established strong relationships with homeowners and commercial developers. . They offer a customer satisfaction guarantee for every project that they complete. They are committed to meeting budgets and tight deadlines. Furthermore, our contractors consist of specialized trades professionals that are continuously tested at their skill and quality.

Hal built our deck with a bbq station. Looks amazing. He's really busy so it took longer than we expected but it's done. It's quality work to say the least. One knock is he has too many jobs going at the same time so we felt a little neglected. But after seeing the finished product we think the wait was definitely worth it.

I called Northern Son because of the positive reviews I’ve seen. They were all very correct. Hal did an amazing job. New tub, walk-in shower, vanity, custom made mirror cabinet. We couldn’t be more pleased.

Super guy to have in my home to do a job that has become the center piece of our home. I called Northern Son to tear down a wall and build an Island which trnasformed out house into and open concept home for my wife, 2 girls and myself. We were concerned that the wall being removed was load bearing, but Hal knew exactly what to do. Reinforced it from the basement up with jack stands and reinforced ceiling joists. Then he built an Island that flawlessly matches the flow of our kitchen and open concept. IF you're looking for an expert local carpenter then call Hal. We didn't have a single complaint from the min he came to our house to show us what we needed to do to achieve the kitchen concept my wife and i have talked about and wanted done for several years. Being a self employed business owner myself for over 30yrs I know what kind of effort it takes to be the best at what it is that you do in this World! Hal Clayton has done just that with his talent of designing and finishing exotic furniture and his passion for Woodcraft and Carpentry! Experience in an Intricate Trade like his has been learned and passed down by his father at a very young age ,something that is rarely seen in Today's World. has to be past down

Hal looks after all the work in our rental units. His profesianalism is top notch as well as his work. He has done quite a few jobs in our units and we have no complaints at all.. The jobs are done right the first time. I highly recommend Northern Son Woodcraft and Carpentry 5 star for sure.
